Katerina Munis is an award-winning writer/director and XR innovator based in Los Angeles. She holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and was the Director of Productions at XR Stage, an immersive film studio.

Katerina is distinguished as a 2025 Russo Brothers + AGBO Studios directing fellow, Academy Awards Nicholls finalist, 2025 McKnight Media Arts Foundation screenwriting fellow, 2025 Stowe Narrative Labs selected screenwriter, 2025 Sloan + Sundance finalist, 2025 Moonshot Feature Accelerator fellow, 2024 Next List awarded screenwriter, and 2024 ScreenCraft Screenwriting fellow.

Katerina's debut short film, Daedalus, was captured on an LED Volume and awarded Fox studios' production grant. Daedalus received myriad "Best Director" and "Best Film" awards during its international festival circuit, including "Best Director" at the 2023 Beverly Hills Film Festival in competition alongside feature films, and the 2024 TELLY for "Best Director" in an immersive world. Daedalus was featured in AMPAV's "Emerging Filmmaker" showcase at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Katerina is a 2025 Russo Brothers + AGBO Studios directing fellow. Her awarded short film TIRAMISU stars Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis and explores immigration and the impact of ICE raids.
