KATERINA MUNIS is a film writer & director based in Los Angeles. She earned an MFA in Film & TV Production from USC, and her bachelor's in Classics & the Ancient Near East. Prior to film, Katerina worked in medical aid in global conflict regions. Katerina was the Director of Productions at XR Stage, an immersive film studio.

Katerina's directorial debut Daedalus was awarded grants from FOX Studios, XR, and USC Scholarship. Daedalus received myriad Best Director and Best Film awards during its international festival circuit, including the 2024 TELLY for "Best Immersive Director". Daedalus was featured in the American Pavilion's "Emerging Filmmaker Showcase" at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

 

Katerina is a featured writer on the 2024 Next List by Coverfly, and was awarded the 2024 ScreenCraft Screenwriting Fellowship. Her debut feature script BEASTS is an Academy Awards Nicholls semi-finalist, Sundance Labs finalist, Stowe Story Labs selection, and is featured on Coverfly's REDLIST. Katerina's sci-fi script A Singular Girl is currently a 2025 Sundance Labs finalist.
